This game is about completing your assignment before the deadline approaches while finishing the game you are playing. You have to switch between the assignment window {{A}} and the game window {{G}}, making sure that you don't run out of motivation {{M}} or energy! {{E}}
{{A}} The assignment window contains text that (when your mouse is on the left window) you will need to type out. Once you've typed out the text in its entirety then you will finish that Mid Game Task {{MGT}}
{{G}} The game window contains a small shooter game, the aim of the shooter game is to collect the trophy at the top of the screen, you can do this by either upgrading your jump stats in the shop screen or buying the jump pad, which will launch you upwards if you down slam {{DS}} on top.
{{M}} Motivation is what drives you to complete your assignment, if your cursor is on the left side of the screen (AKA on the assignment side) then you will gain motivation, but lose energy {{E}}, and vice versa. Your motivation bar can be seen at the top of the assignment screen
{{E}} Energy is what drives you to complete your game, if your cursor is on the right side of the screen (AKA on the game side) then you will gain energy, but lose motivation {{M}}, and vice versa. your energy bar can be seen at the top of the game screen
{{MGT}} To win the game you must complete both the game and the assignment. If you complete one but have not yet completed the other, that is a mid-game task completion, because you haven't finished the full game, just half of it.
{{DS}} Down Slamming is a part of the movement mechanics in the game window, hold "s" while air born without holding any other keys, and you will perform a down slam, indication of this will make your character RED you can down slam on enemies to get a height boost and negate damage, you can down slam on the jump pad to be launched.

I made this game for a 1st year uni project for the paper "Programing for Creativity". Some things are implemented a bit weirdly (such as typing sound effects).
I am looking to update DUEL_DEADLINE in the future further - if people like it, otherwise I'll continue with other projects

Install instructions
Duel_Deadline is made in Processing. All the processing files/classes are included (main is Duel_Deadline.pde). A changelog and program description is also included.
To play the game, extract the zip and open "Duel_Deadline.exe"
